Salisbury, Md. (Friday, December 19, 2014) - For the eighth straight year, Perdue’s professional truck drivers helped deliver wreaths to veterans’ cemeteries as part of the nationwide effort called “Wreaths Across America.”

Perdue Transportation Inc. driver Keith Clark delivered a truckload of wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., on Saturday, Dec. 13 as part of the national Wreaths Across America effort.

The load was part of more than 10,000 wreaths that five Perdue truckers delivered to veterans’ cemeteries in Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Virginia. The Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del., and Hebron Memorial Cemetery in Hebron, Md., were among the stops as well as the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and the United States Military Academy West Point Cemetery.

“It’s a real honor for me to be part of the Wreaths Across America mission,” said Clark, an Air Force veteran. “I’ve had the opportunity to participate in this event before. Seeing all those wreaths across the vast expanse of Arlington is an emotional experience. I’m humbled by the opportunity to play a small part again this year.”

Chairman Jim Perdue said, “I’m very proud of our drivers for their role in representing Perdue in the Wreaths Across America project. It’s important that we are able to recognize their contributions in this effort, but also for their own military service.

“When you think of the thousands of people who are serving in the military all around the world and the sacrifices that they and their families are making at this time of the year, the ability for us to help share and show respect for that sacrifice, especially for those who made the ultimate sacrifice, is really important,” said Perdue.
