Perdue associates collect gently worn professional clothing for Diakonia Inc. transitional housing center
Salisbury, Md. (Wednesday, August 31, 2016) - Perdue associates in Salisbury, Md., recently cleaned out their closets in support of Diakonia, Inc., a provider of emergency and transitional housing for men, women and families on the lower Eastern Shore. Associates donated over 40 bags of gently worn men’s and women’s professional clothing and handbags to support the Diakonia mission in helping individuals and families in the local area by providing shelter, food, clothing and the resources to rebuild their lives.
“Diakonia’s mission is to provide help to those in crisis while maintaining dignity,” said Anna O’Neill, communications coordinator at Diakonia. “For people struggling with homelessness, there are many challenges, and by generously donating business attire, your associates have given dignity to those who need it most. We are so grateful for your support of our mission.”
“It was wonderful to see Perdue associates come together to support Diakonia and services that they provide for those in need in our local communities,” said Perdue associate Alex Smethurst, who organized the collection effort. “Associates rallied behind the cause and we are really looking forward to future efforts to support Diakonia.”
