Perdue Farms' Milford associates present $29,315 to United Way of Delaware

Salisbury, Md. (February 10, 2012) — Associates at Perdue Farms’ Milford operations contributed $29,315 to the United Way of Delaware. The contribution also includes a $4,000 grant funded by the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation.

United Way is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to maximize the communities’ resources to improve the lives of all the members of the community. Through the combination of generous individual and business contributions, the United Way of Delaware is able to support such agencies as Kent Sussex Industries, Boys and Girls Club, American Red Cross and Big Brothers and Sisters.

The Perdue campaign allowed associates to use a simple payroll deduction process to individually contribute to the United Way. Despite tough economic conditions, Perdue associates still managed to dig deep in their pockets to support their local community.

We are happy to support the United Way of Delaware said Dean Walston, director of operations. “At Perdue, where teamwork is so important to our success, we recognize the importance of neighbors helping neighbors.”

John Moore, vice president of United Way of Delaware, said, “It’s great to know that we have such a caring partner like Perdue in Delaware. Perdue is a fantastic partner, with great people, great leadership and great support for United Way.”
