Perdue Foods Voluntarily Recalls PERDUE® Fun Shapes Refrigerated Chicken Breast Nuggets Due to an Undeclared Allergen
January 28, 2019
Perdue Foods, in cooperation with USDA, has voluntarily recalled 16,011 pounds or approximately 21,348 packages of refrigerated, fully cooked fun shapes chicken breast nuggets under the PERDUE ® brand because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen. These items were produced with the wrong back panel label and have an incorrect ingredient statement that did not have the milk allergen declared on the package. The back panel placed on the package was UPC Code 72745-00129. The correct Perdue Fun Shapes UPC Code is 72745-00107.
The recall is isolated to only PERDUE® Fun Shapes Refrigerated Chicken Breast Nuggets and does not include any frozen fully cooked chicken nuggets. These items have a " USE BY Date of MAR 11 2019” with a Lot Code Date Stamp range 17009010-19009010. The package also bear establishment number "P-369." We have limited the scope of the recall to the following states:
- New Hampshire
- New York
- New Jersey
- Washington D.C.
- West Virginia
There have been no reports of adverse reaction or illness associated with this product. “After receiving a customer inquiry, we conducted a comprehensive investigation and have isolated this to an error during a specific time frame of the production run of PERDUE® Fun Shapes Refrigerated Chicken Breast Nuggets,” said Jeff Shaw, Perdue’s Vice President for Quality Assurance. “Out of an abundance of caution for our consumers we have decided to recall these items that were sold in the refrigerated case.”
