  • Continued our leadership toward eliminating antibiotic use, converting all our branded chicken and turkey consumer products to no antibiotics ever, including our USDA Process Verified Program
  • Continued to introduce new products that meet demand for both convenience and sustainability
  • Strengthened partnerships with Farm to School Network, Health Care Without Harm and Urban School Food Alliance to promote the availability of no-antibiotics-ever menu items in healthcare and school settings
  • Launched the first-ever national TV advertising campaign promoting organic chicken

  • Announced five-year goals for reductions in greenhouse gas, water use and solid waste
  • Ramped up our Delaware composting plant to full-scale operation, continuing and expanding our poultry litter and nutrient recycling programs on Delmarva

Animal Care

We believe in responsibly raising animals for food.

  • Hosted our second annual Animal Care Summit, reporting our progress toward goals outlined in 2016 and committing to next steps
  • Committed to meet demand for chicken raised to the criteria outlined in the “Joint Animal Protection Organization Statement on Broiler Chicken Welfare Issues”
  • Achieved American Humane Association certification and moved to 100% crate-free (no gestation or farrowing crates) production for COLEMAN NATURAL® pork products
  • Installed controlled-atmosphere stunning at our Milford, Del., chicken harvesting plant
  • Achieved Tier Two ranking—the second best—in the global 2017 Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare

People & Partners

We believe in being a responsible employer, investing in our associates’ growth, safety and well-being.

  • Received more safety awards from the Joint Industry Safety and Health Council than any other poultry company for the third year in a row
  • Eliminated co-pays at our Wellness Centers that provide access to primary care through on-location doctor’s offices
  • Named a Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and became a signatory to CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion
  • Increased hourly production pay rates and paid out a profit-sharing bonus to all eligible associates


We believe in being responsible members of the communities where we do business.

  • Provided food, financial aid and volunteer efforts to relief efforts for natural disasters, including hurricanes and flooding in Florida and Texas; storms in Georgia; and wildfires in Sonoma Valley, Calif.
  • Recognized as a Mission Partner by Feeding America for 2017
  • Provided more than $2.3 million in grants through the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation

  • Opened Pennsylvania’s first large-scale, commercial soybean processing plant to better serve Pennsylvania farmers
  • Expanded farmer contracts for DuPont Pioneer® Plenish® soybeans and other specialty seeds

  • Launched new commercials introducing a fourth generation of Perdue family advertising spokespersons
  • Strengthened customer service with a new Perdue Foods distribution center in Savannah, Ga.
