Our poultry operations are fully integrated to ensure quality at every step, from the chickens that provide eggs to our hatcheries; feed mills; live production; harvesting, processing and cooking operations; and transportation and distribution. The majority of our chickens are raised on family farms. On the West Coast, company-owned ranches are more common. Our live production includes barn-raised, free-range and organic operations.
Small family farms raise sows and no-antibiotics-ever hogs, and we have harvesting and further processing operations in Iowa.
Our Innovation Center houses our research and development center for new product and packaging development, consumer sensory testing, foodservice recipe and menu development. The center helps us continuously improve quality, taste, convenience, nutrition and food safety for retail and foodservice products.
Our Technical Services department rivals many research universities and supports Perdue Foods with animal health and nutrition research and food safety labs.
