The PERDUE® brand continued to make advertising history when we introduced a fourth generation of family advertising spokespersons in what were also the first national TV ads to promote USDA certified organic chicken.

Chris and Ryan Perdue, part of the fourth generation of Perdues working in the family business, joined their father, chairman and long-time advertising spokesperson Jim Perdue, in two new commercials featuring PERDUE® HARVESTLAND® organic chicken.

We were honored to have state and local dignitaries and descendants of Frank Perdue gather at the site of the original Perdue family farmacross the street from our corporate officeto celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Perdue family farmhouse and its inclusion in the Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties. 

Arthur W. Perdue built the farmhouse, which is part of the company’s corporate logo, in 1917. Three years later, he founded on his family farm what would become Maryland’s third-largest company and the country’s most famous brand of chicken.

We continued to invest millions in our harvest and cooking plants, increasing efficiencies, improving product quality, strengthening food safety, and creating a safer and more productive workplace.

We also invested in associate facilities, upgrading restrooms, locker rooms and break areas in our production facilities and providing free Wi-Fi so hourly associates can stay connected during their break times.

We opened a new distribution center in Savannah, Ga., to better serve our customers in the Southeast.

Renovations at our Innovation Center for research and development created a more inviting space for customers and meetings and to showcase all of our brands.

Poultry Farmers

We know that for many farm families, income from poultry contracts is essential to the economic survival of their farm. That’s why we’re dedicated to helping them succeed. Our poultry contracts insulate farmers from most of the financial risks while providing stable income and rewarding top performers.

 

Our poultry contracts include no-antibiotics-ever and organic meat chickens (broilers), turkeys and breeders (that supply eggs to our hatcheries).

 

We support our poultry farmers with dedicated veterinarians, flock advisers, behind-the-scenes poultry health and nutrition research, and laboratories that rival those at many universities.

 

Farmers who raise hogs for Coleman Natural receive a premium price.

Coleman Natural Hog Farmers

Farmers who raise hogs for sale to Coleman Natural put in extra work to meet our care standards, including no antibiotics ever and an all-vegetarian diet. In turn, they receive a premium price for their animals. We help them with veterinary and technical support.
