This decadent delight might be fun to share ― or not! The recipe starts with a chocolate cake batter, made with creamery butter, real melted semi-sweet chocolate, cocoa powder, whole eggs and cake flour. The small-batch chocolate ganache filling, made with whipping cream, semi-sweet chocolate, creamery butter and shortening, flows out like a stream of chocolate lava when fresh-from-the-oven cakes are sliced. This single-serving, restaurant-quality dessert comes in an oven-safe tray so the cake bakes up fluffy and moist and the filling melts to ooey, gooey and decadent perfection in only 20 minutes – no prep time required! Cakes make the perfect ending to an elegant multi-course steak dinner or special-occasion celebration.
About the Company
The first apple pies were sold at Chudleigh’s family apple farm in Milton, Ontario, in 1967. Word spread and the bakery side of the business took off. Today, Chudleigh’s numbers 200 dedicated employees who work in a 110,000-square-foot bakery just minutes from the original farm. Times have changed, but the company’s dedication to delicious homemade desserts has not. Only fresh apples, hand cut and peeled daily, go into each batch of pie filling; only Chudleigh’s own custom blend of freshly milled grains, processed days before use, goes into each batch of pastry. Customers can expect only pure, simple ingredients – no preservatives, no unnecessary processes. And because desserts are frozen shortly after they’re baked, they taste just as good as if they were scratch-made in your own kitchen.
